Bay Presbyterian Seeks a Christ-Centered, Enthusiastic Pastor to Continue the Legacy of Pastor Hu Auburn

On January 8, 2006 Senior Pastor Hu Auburn humbly and powerfully talked to the congregation about his plans to retire in 2008. At that time, Pastor Auburn will be 62, and he will have faithfully served Bay Presbyterian for 33 years.

Hu told the congregation:

"My passion for BPC has not diminished. It has increased.... I am sure that I could remain your pastor for the next ten years and we could continue the ministry and do just fine. But, I do not believe that would position us to effectively minister to future generations. I firmly believe it is time for God to call the next pastor of Bay, who will be ordained by God to take us to the places where we will continue to risk, stretch, and grow."

01-08-2006 State Of The Congregation

A Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) was commissioned by the congregation on May 28, 2006. This committee has begun the work to select a Co-Pastor who will replace Pastor Auburn after a short transition period of shared responsibilities expected to last no longer than three months.

This committee is hard at prayer and hard at work to find the person that God has already ordained to fill Hu’s role and continue his legacy.  The committee has periodically issued Transition Newsletters to keep the congregation informed about their progress.  Click here for a list of those Newsletters.
