Giving to BPC > Special Gifts

Each year the ministry activities of Bay Presbyterian lead to a number of special circumstances where God calls our members to support other Christian ministry efforts or participate in ministry start up.  These opportunities may be to financially help our brothers in sisters in Christ in another part of the world or simply to offer financial support to a ministry that touches us as an individual.

Opportunities to provide this type of financial support is most often announced from the pulpit, highlighted in the bulletin, or featured on the BPC website.

Examples include:

  • Relief for worldwide disasters, such as the December 2004 tsunami, hurricanes Katrina & Stan
  • Worship
    • Music and worship events by BPC’s ministries staff and volunteers include a free-will offering collected during these events.  Other opportunities include supporting visiting Christian musical groups.
  • Youth Ministry
    • Summer interns ($9,000 year)
  • Ministry Support
    • Leadership Development funds – training & conferences (donations of any amount)
    • Emerging Ministry Fund (donations of any amount)
    • Hunger relief campaigns.  For over 20 years BPC’s Board of Deacons has organized a campaign to collect donations of money as well as canned goods to support Cleveland-area hunger agencies.
  • Memorial gifts which are most often made to the BPC Memorial Endowment Fund or a specific ministry close to the hard of a departed friend or loved one.
