New To BPC? > What to Expect

Are you thinking about visiting Bay Presbyterian for the first time?
Here is what you can expect:

Do I have to stand up in front of people?
We will not ask you to stand up and introduce yourself in front of everyone. We want you to be comfortable when you visit. Near the beginning of most events, we will provide a few moments for people to meet and chat with one another. We think that you will be more comfortable meeting a few people seated around you who are genuinely interested in getting to know you.

Do I have to wake up early?
Your life is probably fast-paced and busy. You can attend Sunday services at the time that is most convenient to you: 8:15am, 9:45am, or 11:15am.

For more information about service times, see our Worship page.

Do you want my money?
No. If you are a visitor, we don't expect you to give. For now, we want you to have an opportunity to check us out without feeling pressured to give money.

In time, if you decide to become a part of our community, you may decide that you would like to participate monetarily in our activities and efforts. At that time, we would welcome your participation.

Do I have to dress up?
No. You are welcome to come as you are. If you join us on Sunday, you will see some people wearing suits and dresses, but you will also see people wearing jeans and slacks. Please wear clothes that make you feel comfortable.
For more information about what people most commonly wear, see our Worship page
.

Are you going to tell me what is wrong with me?
We want you to know about Jesus. His message is about good news. He did not come to condemn us, but to give us life.

While it is important to recognize that all of us fall short of God's ideals, it is even more important to emphasize the joyful and complete life that Jesus offers us.

Is it boring?
We don't think so! We have services to match your style, from traditional organ to modern song to contemporary bands with guitars and drums.

For more information about the style of our Sunday services, see our Worship page
.
